Galvanized 1/2"x1-1/2" Nipple?. This Nipple is a fitting that allows you to connect multiple fittings together, and make short runs of pipe without the hassle of cutting and threading. This Galvanized 1/2"x1-1/2" Nipple features two tapered and threaded male connections ideal for a snug and leak free connection when installed correctly. (Teflon tape or Pipe dope is required for a leek free connection) This Galvanized Nipple and other fittings are used in a variety of different plumbing applications. They can be used in hot water applications, but cold water applications are best with the galvanized fitting and piping construction. Its galvanized construction is very durable and its ability to resist corrosion and rust make it a better choice over black iron or copper fittings. (Note: When using Galvanized nipples to connect to copper or brass, a Dielectric Union is required to prevent "Galvanic Corrosion" which is a corrosive reaction created through acidic electrolysis that leads to week and faulty connections)
